What to expect from a Consultation

Before the consultation, you will receive an intake form to fill out (don’t worry it won’t take you very long). It will ask about your presenting complaint, any allergies and for a typical day’s food diary. This is so we can get the basics down and go a little deeper in the consultation itself.

In the herbal consultation, I will take a full case history of the main issue, along with a full past medical health, drug and diet history. I will take your blood pressure and pulse and where necessary or appropriate, conduct a clinical examination. We will then discuss your treatment plan and address any dietary changes and lifestyle advice.

You will then be prescribed a personalised herbal medicine, which could take the form of a tincture (an alcohol extract of a plant or plant part), a tea, a topical preparation (a medicinal cream or oil), pessaries or suppositories, capsules and instructions on how to use them. We will also book in for your follow up consultation in which we will analyse your progress and whether we need to make any changes to or develop your treatment plan.
